Our Foundation's Origin
The Wiregrass Uplift Foundation, Inc. is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded on March 17, 2021, by members of the Kappa Beta Beta Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.—Dr. Kenneth C. Brown, Eric O. Curtis, Jr., Thomas B. Elder, Sr., LaDray B. Gilbert, Esq., Charlie Mahone, and Jonathan D. Smith. The Foundation was established with the mission of providing community service, health outreach, and educational support to the Wiregrass area.
The Wiregrass Uplift Foundation, Inc. began with just a few volunteers and has since expanded its volunteer base. As the organization continues to grow, it has awarded scholarships to graduating high school seniors, participated in community youth development initiatives, and organized clothing, shoe, and school supply drives. Through networking and partnerships with local organizations across the Wiregrass Area, the Foundation remains committed to supporting and uplifting the community.

The Wiregrass Uplift Foundation is committed to strengthening our community through the positive and constructive development of area youth opportunities, career and academic planning, and social personal growth.
Through Service, Outreach, and Support, the Wiregrass Uplift Foundation will assertively and collaboratively teach, coach, and mentor youth in all aspects of personal development, providing them with the confidence to intentionally dream, aspire and excel in all endeavors.
